In 1991 the Oscar Wilde opened it's doors and was the first Irish pub to open up in the central district of Mitte, in what was formerly East Berlin. Due to the amount of construction work taking place in Berlin in the early 1990's the Oscar Wilde became an important meeting place for construction workers- all looking for a hearty fried breakfast!
